Artwork Guidelines
Please supply your artwork in the following format shown below
PC files - PDF COMPOSITE
Notes on PDF artwork:
a) All PDF files that are supplied to us as artwork must have fonts embedded, for special/protected fonts, they will need to
be curved.
b) Any black text should be prepared as overprint black, with a “no knockout effect”.
c) Any black text, images and graphics should be C=0, M=0, Y=0, K=100 and not CMYK black.
d) Please note that black in CMYK format can sometimes cause miss register on smaller text.
Notes on Photoshop artwork:
a) Artwork created in Photoshop must be prepared as CMYK, all the layers must be flattened to one layer, otherwise we
may see font errors.
b) Please try to avoid using CMYK black text in Photoshop, otherwise you may have the some issues as mentioned in
“Notes on PDF artwork (d)” Please import your PSD artwork into Illustrator, InDesign or QuarkXPress and insert your
black text there.
c) Photoshop PDF artwork resolution should be around 300 - 600 dpi.
Notes on Barcodes:
a) Barcodes sent to us must be prepared as black and not CMYK, or if you wish you can send us your barcode number(s)
and we can generate a barcode for you, please also let us know which type of barcode you would like EAN-13, UPC (A),
UPC (B), Code 128...........

Notes on Colour & Design:
a) Total Area (Ink) Coverage must not exceed 300% (Coated FOGRA27 (ISO 12647-2:2004)).
b) Solid areas of black must be intensified with 66% Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and 100% Black.
c) Trapping is necessary for text and small graphics to compensate for register tolerance when printing.
d) On your artwork please leave a 2mm gap all the way around to the trim line, please also add a 3mm bleed on the
outside of the trim area if your artwork has any graphics that finish on the trim line.

When we have received your artwork file(s), our graphic design studio will prepare a JPEG or a low resolution PDF file and email you these for approval.
